Chapter 44 News:

    Members give final approval for the construction of the Sport Aviation Center to begin. In the photo above left, from the June 16 general meeting, members voted unanimously to approve the construction of the Sport Aviation Center as presented by the Building Committee. Above right, President Norm Isler signs the contract with Finger Lakes Construction. We expect to have the shell in place by the end of summer.

    Saturday, June 27 12:00 Noon:

    CarolAnn Garratt flew her Mooney M20J around the world in just 8 days, 12 hours and 20 minutes. On June 27, CarolAnn will be in Rochester, NY to tell the story of how she and Carol Foy flew around the world setting a new world speed record in the process.

    CarolAnn will at the Greater Rochester International Airport in the International Arrivals Hall, lower level of the passenger terminal. Admission is free, but donations to further ALS research will be appreciated. Discounted parking will be available for those who attend. (Bring your parking lot ticket in to the Arrivals Hall for the parking discount.)

Donations Now Accepted On-Line Towards Building Our Sport Aviation Center

EAA 44 is undertaking a capital campaign to raise funds to build a Sport Aviation Center for the Rochester Community and our members. We are asking for your support by making a tax-deductible donation to EAA Chapter 44.

This facility will be a place where you can build your own airplane, take a Young Eagle flight, meet new and interesting people, take a Sport Pilot ground school, learn about General and Sport Aviation, learn about Rochester aviation history, hear presentations by aviation dignitaries.

General meetings are the third Tuesday of each month except December. Visitors are always welcome.

Officer meetings are 8 days before the general meeting. All members may attend officer's meetings. Meeting location may change without notice; please verify with an officer if you plan to attend.
